Applying Permaculture principles
After collecting and evaluating information for a little while, I have come to the conclusion that children are very simple minded, do not understand words or concepts such as edges, future, results, analysis, etc ... but they understand in an instinctive and unconscious way our log in with nature.
I think that using environmental education it's the best way to educate their virgin and inexperienced minds, to love the earth, its people and them relationship with the environment, leading towards a path of deeper learning and understanding of permaculture in the future.
Using the principles I intend to make and follow a pattern design with which like a tool, I want to improve my relationship with Ohli and children in general. This will allow us to be benefit mutually and multi-functionally, and can help me on my pas on skills of respect for the people, the earth and future shares.

1. Observe and interact
Observe what them motivations are, trust them and let them choose their path being me and other adults the guide to keep them within a safe margin.
Listen and interpret what they are saying from a simple mind and little vocabulary, for example, when they say I do not like, this can have endless interpretations, like now I don´t desire it, I feel tired, or it could be improved...
If I don't look closely at the context in which they use simple sentences with their limited vocabulary,I will not understand what they are really trying to say, it will be very confused and lead to misunderstandings, as thinking that they try to cheat me or they have no idea what they talking about.
2. Catch and store energy
Try to distribute and store my energy, physical, mental and spiritual. Kids seem to have boundless energy, and if I'm not as high as my child it can end with me.
Organise my´s and my partner´s time, to rest and recover the energy that we'll need to dedicate to the little one, while have quality time as a couple and individual. Is important not to lose those key moments to connect with my partner and reconnect with myself, this way can be recharged our batteries and get on with energy.
3. Obtain a yield
Enjoy spending time with kids they are great teachers, relate the challenges they put into our life and take advantage as a great inner learning. With each challenge passed is another great satisfaction.
This satisfaction is one of the best yield that I get, nurturing myself by seen how my children evolve in the right direction. If we give them love they will return it multiplied.
Teach my child how to do something rather than do it for him.
4. Apply self-regulation and accept feedback
Be aware of the consequences of my own actions. As babies have a virgin mind they are testing new ways to interact without rules or laws, they start to learn to express by mimicking and with this base they develop new skills to learn to do it by themselves as they grow. So if they are gibing to me a stress day I should look at myself if I'm having any influence with my own mood.
Living in community its also necessary to aware everyone about some consequences. If they leave their favorite munchies in the bottom of the fridge, once the kids know how to open it, surprises will happen.
5. Use and value renewable resources and services
Get organised with other parents I know with whom we can take turns caring for the children, sometimes in our own family or circle of friends I can meet other parents in the same situation and organise ourselves to find the extra time to do other thinks that we can have.
Find out about the activities in my neighbourhood involving children, or search places like parks and playgrounds, where my child can learn to interact with other children and with no cost.
Grow my own recipes of baby food from my garden, I can design one bed only to be sure I cover his needs.
6. Stop producing waste
Ask my kids and calculate how hungry they are, so I can better know the amount of food to cook and avoid waste.
Nappies are one of the biggest waste product of the first two years of our life, having cloth diapers saves a huge environmental cost, but they also use a huge amount of water. To not waste much reduce washing water by soaking nappies before.
If I buy a toy I want to be sure that this have a minimum of quality and is not thrown away after two days because is already broken.
7. Design from patterns to details
Give a child the ease of understanding the patterns of each day, children can not reduce speed from hundred to zero. So if I design a pattern where my child knows what will happen next, he will be better able to understand what is happening at every moment.
A simple pattern to put your kids in bed: dinner, bath, story, and sweet dreams.
Be informed of the baby phases can help me as a guide, but do not be obsessed on the details, and let all children develop at their own pace and style.
8. Integrate rather than segregate
Give to children the opportunity to get closer to me, think about including them in my everyday life and the extraordinary activities, try to enjoy and share games, work, meals... together as a family.
At first babies are communicating more with physical, mental and emotional reactions, but are slowly building their vocabulary and this gradually increases during the first three years. Use simple vocabulary with children and gradually expand on this, be aware that they do not understand very complex words and this can bring misunderstandings. Try to be the one who has to understand them and not backwards.
9. Use small and slow solutions
Immerse myself in the babies little world and expand with them in this. At first the babies are not aware of their surroundings, parents are their only reality and this little world is where we will interact with them at the first months.
Patience is one of the things they teach me to practice deeper, do not despair wen they do not understand the rush,... Children can read your mood or stress and that can cause concern.
Keep up with my child's learning moment. May take a while till he understand or learn somethings, but just when I think all hope is gone, he get it.
10. Use edges and value the marginal
Most little ones can absorb me in unimaginable ways. Try to not cross my limits, been conscious about my needs and learn how to self-regulate to find a middle point and not burn out. Observe their reactions and try to show that this is a loving process for the benefit of all.
Be their guide giving them the tools to open their consciousness about their needs and those of others, making them understand where their boundaries are with their interactions with the environment.
And as much as society says, do not forget to love my children if they turn out to be freaks!
11. Use and value diversity
Use different ways to approach to the small ones, and see which of these ways is best for them. Some learn faster if we use more appropriate communications such as auditory and visual. Try to empower their personal side that will make it easier for them, and better able to communicate with others in the future.
Recognise the best in each child. Just like you they are special and unique, don't stop to use my common sense just because of what society say's about what's a perfect family should be.
12. Use and respond creatively to change
Be aware to recognise when my children have moved to a different growing development stage, and change my way to treat them appropriately. It is a non stop process of regeneration of ideas and concepts, that brings a regeneration of actions, habits and attitudes.
The growth of a baby's mind changes faster than fashion, and I have to be there every day to not miss out on what's happening.
Observe what them motivations are, trust them and let them choose their path being me and other adults the guide to keep them within a safe margin.
